Θ[Lake Ikeda]Lake Ikeda, which overlooks Kaimondake called Satsuma Fuji, is the largest caldera lake in Kyushu. Lake Ikeda is a lake with a circumference of 15km and a water depth of 233m.The lake water of Lake Ikeda is clear indigo. A giant mottled eel with a body length of 2 m and a waist circumference of 50 cm lives in it, and is famous as a lake for the phantom monster "Issie".
Θ[Kagami-ike (Mirror Pond)]Mirror Pond, a crater lake formed by a volcanic eruption, is a circular pond with an area of 8 hectares. The scenery of Mt. Kaimondake reflected like a mirror is truly a beautiful scenery. It seems that Mt.Kaimondake is reflected upside down like a mirror.
Θ[Kaimondake (Mt. Kaimon; Satsuma Fuji) ]Kaimondake is located at the southernmost tip of the Satsuma Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture and is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. It is a symbol of Ibusuki and is also known as Satsuma Fuji. There is a gentle mountain trail to the top.The panoramic view of Kirishima, Yakushima and Kagoshima from the top is wonderful.
