Aomori Tourist Information (Lake Towada:Oirase Stream)
Aomori is a popular tourist destination famous for its magnificent nature and hot springs.In addition to natural scenery such as Lake Towada, Jusan Lake, Mt.Iwaki, there are parks where you can enjoy the flowers and feel nature throughout the four seasons.In Aomori, you will find many sightseeing spots with beautiful flowers such as autumn leaves,fresh green,cherry blossoms, Apple blossom,etc.In addition, we recommend you to enjoy artistic places such as temples, museums or historic spots.

Mt. Iwaki】Mt. Iwaki is a volcano located in the southwestern part of the Tsugaru Plain, and has an altitude of 1625m, which is the highest mountain in the prefecture. A hot spring springs out at the foot of the mountain. It was designated as a national park in 1975, and alpine plants peculiar to Mt. Iwaki bloom from June to July.From the summit, you can see the Hakkoda Mountains, the Tsugaru Peninsula and Lake Jusanko.

Lake Towada】Lake Towada is a lake on the border between Aomori and Akita prefectures, and is a caldera lake formed by volcanic activity about 2,000 years ago. The best time to see the fresh green is from May to June, and the best time to see the autumn leaves is from mid to late October. Lake Towada in winter is also fantastic and beautiful.

Lake Juni】Lake Juni is a general term for 33 lakes and marshes scattered around. It is called Juni Lake because you can see 12 ponds when you look down from the observatory.Among them, "Aoike" shows a mysterious appearance.

Oirase Gorge】The Oirase Gorge is about 14km long, and you can enjoy the natural beauty of the four seasons with beautiful trees, waterfalls and rocks. The best time to see the fresh green is from May to June, and the best time to see the autumn leaves is from mid to late October.

Shirakami Mountains】The Shirakami Mountains is a general term for a vast mountainous area of approximately 130,000 hectares that spans Aomori and Akita prefectures, and was registered as a World Heritage Site in December 1993. The world's largest pristine beech forest is distributed here, and academically valuable animals and plants inhabit it.
